GP Swim: Week of 6/10 and Looking Forward

Frogs, Families & Friends,

The dual meet season is almost upon us.  School ends for most Frogs this week and we have time trials next Saturday.

See below for this week's events/activities and a look forward to other team activities.

GO FROGS!

NEW Parents' Meeting

Monday June 11 @ 5:30pm under upper pavilion.

We'll discuss the upcoming team events and what to expect once the dual meet season begins.

Time Trials - Team Meeting & Team Breakfast

Saturday June 16

All swimmers except tad polls must report for time trial warmups no later than 7:30am.  The trials will start at approximately 8:15am. Tad polls will not be swimming, but should come to the team mtg and breakfast - see below. NOTE:  Tadpoles are those just learning to swim who cannot yet complete a lap of the pool.  Please see Coach Julia's email from today for info on how the trials will be run.

Attached, please find a list of volunteers for the trials. Thank you volunteers!!!

A team meeting will be held immediately following the trials on the pool deck before going to breakfast.  THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN PAST YEARS - Coach Julia wants to address all of the swimmers and parents before breakfast.  No swimmers should line up for breakfast until after the team mtg.  Those not participating in the trials should come to the pool at 9:00 am.

The team breakfast will follow the team meeting.  Please signup and volunteer to bring goodies at  https://www.signupgenius.com/tabs/93d7edc0fa4cbee2-greenwood2

Team Dinner - Pep Rally: Pizza Party

Friday June 22 @ 6pm under upper pavilion

1st Meet of the Season vs. Tavistock Hills Tidal Wave - HOME

Saturday June 23 @ 9am

All swimmers must report by 7:30am. Please see Coach Julia's email from today for more info on the meet.

Interesting Fact (or useless info depending on your perspective): GP's first-ever TriCo swim meet was also held on June 23 back in 1973 - a victory over Tenby Chase, who we will face in the second meet of the season.

Volunteers Needed: Team Dinners/Celebrations and B-Meets

We still need a few volunteers for some of the team dinners/celebrations and we need a couple parents to help stage the Wed. night B Meets.

More specifically we need the following:

- 2 families for the Tri-County Pizza Party

- 2 families for the Labor Day Frog Farewell Party

- A family or families to run/manage Frogs Cafe for A and B Meets

- A parent(s) to run/manage the 50/50 fundraiser at A and B Meets

- Team Moms:  9/10 Girls and 15-18 Girls

No cooking is involved in any of these celebrations - all you have to do is to set up, refill/clean as you go and clean up at the end. Please email Kim Morris at kmorris@monroetwp.k12.nj.us if you're interested in volunteering for any of the celebrations or email me if you are interested in helping stage the B meets.

Attention Seniors - Scholarship Opportunity

The Michael Heaney Scholarship Fund is giving away two $1,000 scholarships to one male and one female athlete.  The athletes must be a participant in the Tri County Swim League.  The scholarships are in honor of Michael Heaney, a former swimmer who tragically died as a result of a bicycle accident in 2012.  Applications are due June 15th and scholarships will be awarded at the Tri County Championships in August.  More info and the application can be found at https://www.metersformike.com/scholarship/

Buffalo Wild Wings - Teammate Card Fundraiser

Please take advantage of this awesome opportunity to raise $ for our Frogs.

Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10% of the cost of your order to the Frogs any time you visit between now and June 30.

All you have to do is to present your Teammate Card, which is attached along with detailed instructions.

So, support your Frogs by heading over to Wild Wings to catch a Phillies game.
