Now it's time for the biggest meet of the year - Tri-County Championships! Please read ALL of the important info below.
Swimmer Entry Tags: Coach Shannon will be giving out tags at practice tomorrow. All swimmers need tags to gain entry free of charge. Please make sure you attach your tag to your swim bag and bring it on both Saturday and Sunday.
Final Seeding Sheets: Please see attachments.
Pictures: The League will be loading pictures on the website of the championship meet. Anyone wishing to submit picture should send them to tricoweb2@gmail.com as soon as possible after the meet.
Bug Spray: Deer Brook has advise that because of the wet weather that participants/spectators should be prepared for bugs. So, please bring bug spray.
Reporting Times:
10 years & under, plus 11/12 boys swim: Individual preliminary heats are on Saturday morning. Relays that are NOT in the top 12 in their age group also swim on Saturday. Coach Shannon prepared the attached file named "Relay Days GP 2013" that lists which relays swim on Sat. and Sun - please read it to ensure that you report correctly. All swimmers in the morning session must report to Deer Brook no later than 6:45am on Saturday. GP warmups are at 7:19am. The session starts at 8:00am.
13 years & older, plus 11/12 girls swim: Individual preliminary heats are on Saturday afternoon. Relays that are NOT in the top 12 in their age group also swim on Saturday. Warm ups for those in the afternoon session will be held at Greenwood Park at 11am. All swimmers must report to Deer Brook no later than 1:45pm on Saturday. GP on-site warmups are at 2:17pm. The session starts at 2:30pm.
Sunday - Finals: Swimmers of all age groups who place in the top 12 of their individual events return to swim in the finals on Sunday. All relays which are seated in the top 12 also swim on Sunday. We will communicate info about Sunday warm-ups at Greenwood Park on Saturday. GP on-site warmups at Deer Brook are at 9:52am.
The Parade of Champions: An annual Tri-Co tradition! At 10:35am on Sunday there is a parade of all teams. The GP theme for this year's parade is the 1970's. So, please dress to impress in your best 70s gear!
At Deer Brook, swimmers should report to the GP tent location in "tent city," where all of the teams are housed during the meet. It is very important that swimmers stay in the team area so they don't miss their races. Swimmers should bring a chair and pack extra towels/clothes. They should also pack drinks and healthy snacks.
Admission for Nonswimmers on Saturday/Sunday is $10 each day, which includes a program. There is bleacher seating for spectators. Parents are allowed in the team area. There are food/beverage sales, t-shirt sales and other vendors with merchandise for sale. Most, if not all, transactions are in cash.
Directions/Parking: Deer Brook is located in Medford, New Jersey. There is NO parking at the swim club itself. Parents can drop off their swimmers at the club entrance and then will be directed to event parking at the Burlington County Institute of Technology, where a shuttle bus will return you to the club.
