GP Swim: Week of July 29 - Banquet & Tri-Co

Frogs, Families and Friends,

This is the last week of the season, but there is still a lot of fun and some great swimming left.

Please be sure to read the logistics and schedule for Tri-County Championships very carefully and be sure you know when and where to be.  Please call or text me if you have any questions about the meet.

Good luck to all Frogs next weekend.

Hope to see everyone Tuesday night at the banquet.

GO FROGS!

Winter Swimming

Believe it or not, winter swimming is just around the corner. We are hoping that many of you will consider swimming through the winter.  Even if you can commit to at least two days a week you will see drastic improvement next summer.  There are many options available to our swimmers.  As a team we do not endorse one particular program.  Instead we share all available information from each of the clubs.  Please see the attached note from Kim Morris which outlines local winter swim options.

Volunteers:  Thank you to all who volunteered to work the meet. All parent volunteers positions have been filled except for Team Parents (2 needed) on Saturday Afternoon and Team Parents (2 needed) for Sunday Finals.  These positions stay in the team area and make sure our Frogs get to their races.  You will not miss your child races if you volunteer.  Please let me know if you're interested  by texting or calling me. Attached, please find the list of positions and volunteers.

VERY IMPORTANT: please see the attached documents that outline the championship Meet Bullying Guidelines and Procedures for Dealing with Unsportsmanlike Conduct. These rules are a result of an incident at last year's meet. All swimmers and parents should read the guidelines as they will be followed to address any issues at this year's meet.

How the Meet Works:   For those new to Tri-Co - all individual event swimmers compete in preliminary heats on Saturday.  If a swimmer is ranked in the top 12 of times after preliminaries they return to swim in the finals on Sunday.  All relays are timed finals, meaning that relays only swim once and the winners are determined based on time. Only relays that are seeded in the top 12 swim on Sunday. All other relays swim on Saturday. The list of which relays are swimming when is contained in the schedule below.

Parking:  Attached, please find detailed instructions on parking that have been prepared by the meet host Brookside.  Be sure to allow ample time for swimmer drop off and the bus shuttle.  Please see the site and parking map at http://www.tricoswim.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/2018_TRICO_parking_and_Detailed_map.pdf

Team Area - Tent City:  Upon entering the swim club, all swimmers must look for our team area in "Tent City,"  which is the area where all teams are located. You can see our team area on the club map at  http://www.tricoswim.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/2018_TRICO_parking_and_Detailed_map.pdf.

Swimmers must stay in the team area and wait until they are scheduled to swim. There are team parent volunteers who are in the team area and make sure the kids make their events.  However, if you are a parent of a younger swimmer (under 12), please be sure to make sure your child does not miss their race.
