GP Swim: Week of 7/22 and more

Frogs, Families and Friends,

Congratulations to all Frogs on a great season!  A special congratulations to those Frogs who have been selected to swim in the Peach Bowl. Finally, a very special congratulations to the 36 Frogs who have qualified for the TriCo Championships.

Thank you to all parents and friends who have volunteered throughout the season.  We can't make this happen without your help.

Speaking of volunteering, we need parent volunteers to help with TriCounty Championships. Please see below for more details on TriCounty. The list of volunteer positions needed is attached. Please text or call me to volunteer or if you have any questions.

Please see below for other important information and upcoming team activities.

GO FROGS!

Winter Swimming

It's not too early to start thinking about winter swimming.  We are hoping that many of you will consider swimming through the winter.  Even if you can commit to at least two days a week you will see drastic improvement next summer.  There are many options available to our swimmers.  As a team we do not endorse one particular program.  Instead we share all available information from each of the clubs.  Please see the attached note from Kim Morris which outlines local winter swim options.

Parent volunteers are needed. The list of open positions is attached. Please text or call me to volunteer or if you have any questions. Thank you!

VERY IMPORTANT - please see the attached documents that outline the championship Meet Bullying Guidelines and Procedures for Dealing with Unsportsmanlike Conduct. These rules are a result of an incident at last year's meet. All swimmers and parents should read the guidelines as they will be followed to address any issues at this year's meet.

For those new to Tri-Co - all individual event swimmers compete in preliminary heats on Saturday.  If a swimmer is ranked in the top 12 of times after preliminaries they return to swim in the finals on Sunday.  All relays are timed finals, meaning that relays only swim once and the winners are determined based on time. Only relays that are seeded in the top 12 swim on Sunday. All other relays swim on Saturday. I will be circulating specific information on which relays swim on which days after the league makes those final determinations later this week.

Below, please see the preliminary schedule that will be followed. The schedule will be updated as the meet nears. There will be a swimmer drop off (a place close to the club entrance where you can drop of your swimmer so they don't have to enter like all of the spectators) at the Bowe School which is located at the entrance to Brookside.  Younger swimmers can be accompanied by a parent when they are dropped off. Parking for spectators will be at Glassboro High School and Rowan University at Carpenter Ave. and Joseph L. Bowe Blvd. From there, spectators will be bused to the swim club. You can also walk - it is approximately a 12 minute walk.  Please see the site parking map at http://www.tricoswim.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/2018_TRICO_parking_and_Detailed_map.pdf

Upon entering the swim club, all swimmers must look for our team area in "Tent City,"  which is the area where all teams are located.  Swimmers must stay in the team area and wait until they are scheduled to swim. There are team parent volunteers who are in the team area and make sure the kids make their events.  However, if you are a parent of a younger swimmer (under 12), please be sure to make sure your child does not miss their race.
