GP Swim: Peach Bowl Pysch Sheets & Meet Info

Congratulations to all swimmers who are participating in the Peach Bowl - the Gloucester County Swimming Championships!  This is a very fun and exciting meet because it's for local bragging rights.  Many of the year-round swimmers compete against their friends and teammates from their club and high school teams.

Attached, please find the preliminary (teams are reviewing for accuracy) Pysch Sheets for the Peach Bowl.  For those of you new to swimming, Pysch Sheets contain a seeding of swimmers in each event according to time.

One important change for this year's meet is that a ninth team, the Kandle Lake Sharks, have joined the meet.  That means that there will be two heats for most events.  Three swimmers will swim in the first heat and six swimmers will be in the second heat.  The meet is projected to end at 9:30pm (about 1-1.5 hrs longer than previous years).

Please read below for important information:

- The meet starts at 5pm and is held at the Glou. County Institute of Tech. at 1360 Tanyard Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080.

- The swimmer entrance opens at 3:15pm.  Swimmers should report NO LATER than 3:30pm.  Coach Elise will be distributing "luggage tag" badges to all swimmers that are needed for swimmers to gain entry to the pool deck.

- There are no t-shirts sales this year.  Instead, every swimmer who is entered in the meet will receive a t-shirt paid for by the team.

- The spectator entrance opens at 3:30pm.  However, people typically start lining up at 1pm or earlier (I'm not kidding).  There is plenty of room to sit, but if you want a really good seat, you need to show up early.  Entry costs are $10 for adults (includes a program and highlighter) and $5 for children.  Additional programs can be purchased for $5.

- This is an indoor meet and it will be very hot (worse than any outdoor meet) and very noisy.  Adults - if you are coming from work be sure to bring a change of clothes.  It is also wise to find a baby sitter for younger siblings who get very bored and very hot at this meet.

- The swimmers sit on the pool deck separated from the parents (even the 8&Us).  Parents are not allowed on the pool deck.  We will have several team moms on the deck who will look after the swimmers and make sure they get to their events.  Because of the length of the meet, please be sure that swimmers bring water/sports drinks and snacks (PBJ sandwich, fruit, pretzels, crackers, etc.).

- There will be a concession stand selling food and drinks.  This is a CASH ONLY event so please visit the ATM prior to going to the meet.  There is NO ATM at GCIT.

- The team will receive a DVD of the meet and it will be loaned to anyone who wants to make a copy.

- Coach Elise will be communicating more to the team as the Peach Bowl approaches, however, as reminder, please see below for next week's practice schedule.
