GP Swim: Meet Directions, Volunteers and Swim Banquet

Frogs, Families and Friends,

As Coach Elise said in her email, this week's meet at Old Orchard will be close.   Just two years ago in 2012 the Otters beat us in a meet that came down to the very last relay.  Despite that loss, we went on to win C Division with a record of 4-1.  So, this looks like another thriller.

A couple interesting facts about Old Orchard:
- this club is home to Sean Killion, perhaps the best swimmer in Tri-County history. Sean competed for the Otters from 1974 to 1985 and went on to an All-American career at Cal Berkley.  Sean held the American Record in the 800-meter freestyle from 1987 to 2002. He won the 1991 Pan American Games in the 400 free and represented the US in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics where he placed 11th in the 400 free and competed in the 1500 free.
- A guy by the name of Tony Lisa got his Tri-Co coaching start at Old Orchard.  He left Old Orchard to coach a team in Wash. Twp - Greenwood Park, where he became an institution by bringing the team from F Division to A Division.

We will meet at The Dump at 7:00am and will leave no later than 7:15am.  Please remember that if you drive to the meet on your own, do not let your swimmers enter the club.  We will enter the club as one team under Coach Elise's direction.  The address and directions to Old Orchard are attached. (I apologize for the misinformation about the mileage on last week's directions.)

Please see below for this week's volunteer assignments.  THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

Finally, attached, please find the 2014 Banquet Form.  Yes, it's that time already.  Please ensure you submit the form in on time! The banquet is a lot fun - unlike most you've been to.

Have a great 4th.

Go Frogs!
