Dear Frogs and Frog Families,
I hope this message finds you well! I first want to thank all the families that were at swim team sign-ups for giving me a warm welcome back. As I expressed, I am thrilled to be back at Greenwood Park this season. My assistants are equally as excited and we are ready to make this summer a memorable experience for all. It was a pleasure meeting those of you I did not know and just as great seeing all those who made previous years so memorable for me! If I have yet to meet you, don't worry, less than a month until the fun begins!
With that being said, May 28th is around the corner. As I realize how busy your schedules are (especially with school ending extremely late this year) I will do my best to make life a little easier for you. Summer swimming should entail no stress so attached are three documents. The first, a 2014 FAQs sheet (coaches edition); next, a summer calendar listing practice times, team events (not including the extra activities we will be doing with specific age groups), and swim meet dates; last, there is the calendar notes which hopefully explains any questions you may have.
Three very important things:
1. If you are swimming with GPAC, SJAC, Wahoos or any other club team this summer, I would like to know before May 18th. An email with your name, the name of your club team, coach's name, and practice times. Also list the dates you'll be missing GP meets for club meets. (This may only apply to a handful of older swimmers.)
* Note for club swimmers - you are REQUIRED to be at all Friday practices in order to compete in Saturday dual meets.
2. June 3rd - Parents Meeting.
I ask that all attend (especially if you are new to summer swimming)! I will be going over the entire season, explaining how meets run, when the season ends for certain swimmers, what I expect of frogs and families, and etc. This will also be a great time for you to ask me questions that you think other parents are concerned about as well.
3. Missing practices/meets/team events? Going on vacation? Have other obligations? START EMAILING ME DATES ASAP. I do not want surprises on the days of meets!
