GP Swim: New Practice Times, Peach Bowl Info & Mini-Golf

Congratulations to all swimmers on a great 2013 season!  A special congratulations to those who completed their first season as a Frog.  A big thank you to all parents and friends who helped the team run meets, coordinated team dinners and planned team activities.

The regular season is now over, but all Frogs, families and friends still have our Peach Bowl Pizza Party, Mini-Golf Night and our Team Banquet.

For those who were selected and qualified, the Peach Bowl and Tri-County Championships also remain.

Below, please find information on the remaining team activities, including practice.

PRACTICE TIMES - Starting Monday July 22
For those swimmers in Peach Bowl and Tri-County Championships
Older Group - Ages 11-18: 8:00-9:15am
Younger Group - Ages 8-10:  9:15-10:15am

PEACH BOWL - Tuesday July 23 @ 5:30pm - 8:15pm
Congratulations to all those selected to swim in the 2013 Peach Bowl!  The Peach Bowl is a very exciting meet for many reasons.  For some swimmers/families it will be your first championships meet.  For other more experienced and year-round swimmers, you get a chance to compete against your friends from your winter teams.  Finally, both team and individual county championships are up for grabs and it makes for a very loud and very spirited atmosphere.

Swimmer Reporting Time/Instructions
All swimmers must report to the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) by 3:45pm.  Warm ups start at 4:15pm.
GCIT is located at 1360 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.  Enter at the gym entrance located near the flag poles and look for signs for the swimmer entrance.
Swimmers will need an event badge to gain entry to the pool deck.  Unlike previous years, badges will not be given out ahead of time and will be distributed to swimmers when they arrive at GCIT (this is not a GP decision and is the process all teams are required to follow this year).  Please look for me at the swimmers entrance where I will be distributing badges.

Parents/Guardians Instructions
Parents are not allowed on the pool deck.   Once swimmers enter the pool deck, they will be in the very capable and safe hands of our coaching staff, and Team Moms Jenna Buffetta and Katie McAninley.  If you have an emergency and want to reach Jenna on the pool deck during the meet, you can contact her at 609-560-2768.  Texts might work best because it is very loud and can be difficult to hear.  We ask that swimmers do not leave the team area.  The team will bring water for all swimmers.  You should pack your swimmer snacks (fruit, sandwiches, pretzels, etc.) and other drinks (their own personal water, Gatorade, etc.).  It is very hot inside the venue, so please dress accordingly.

Parents/Spectators Admissions & Purchases
This is an all-cash event and there is no ATM at GCIT.  So, please come prepared with cash for all your purchases.
Admission to the meet is $10 and includes a meet program and a highlighter/marker.  Extra programs can be purchased for $5.
Doors open at 4:00pm, but people start lining up as early as 1:30-2:00pm.  If you want a good seat, please go early and bring towels so you can save your seat(s).
There will be food/drinks and Peach Bowl T-shirts for sale for cash.  D&Q will also be at the meet and will be selling bathing suits, goggles, caps, etc.

PEACH BOWL PIZZA PARTY - July 23 @ 8:30pm
ALL Frogs, families and friends are welcome to celebrate wit the team after the big meet!.
The club and pool will be open late to accommodate the team, so come prepared to swim.

Mini Golf: July 25 @ 7pm

Please join coaches Shannon, Patrick and Collin, as well as your fellow Frogs, for the annual GP Frogs Open Mini Golf outing at Nifty Fifties on Thursday July 25 at 7pm.
Cost is $5/person - a special team rate thanks to Coach Shannon.  There are no sign-ups or registration.   Just show up, pay on your own and join the fun.   Please be sure to wear your best golf attire - there will be a prize for best dressed.   See attached flyer for more info.

Team Banquet:  Wed. July 31
The best sports banquet you'll ever attend!  This is not your typical rubber chicken and talking head banquet.  It's run like an award's show and the kids have a great time.  This year the banquet is being held at Paris Caterer's in Blackwood.  Deadline to register was July 15.
